Like many others, Family Reunion has spent the past few months watching the series of events unfold following George Floyd’s death on May 25th. Tragically, we know that this country’s culture of systemic racism didn't start or end with the passing of George Floyd, it has been occurring for far too long and it is time we unite as a FAMILY to make change.
We stand in solidarity with our Black fans, artists, colleagues, team members, and loved ones during this time and want to use our platform and any way possible to be part of the change. We’ve been listening, processing, learning, and advocating for Black Lives Matter, holding our Stream for Change event on Juneteenth to raise money for Color of Change, and planning on future BLM benefit events (more info to come soon). We want to use our voices to create a community of appreciation for one another and it starts with YOU.
We felt that it is important to inform of how you can learn and how you can help make change regarding the BLM movement. ~Please~ use your quarantine time to listen, learn, donate, and/or participate in conversations with others.

BLM in the Music Industry
The music industry has made many impacts on the BLM movement during this time, from stepping back on #BlackoutTuesday to reconnect with the community, to smaller changes such as The Black Madonna (famous techno DJ) changing her name to The Blessed Madonna, in response to the movement. All of this being said, we believe it's important to acknowledge that many of the music genres popular in today’s culture are heavily influenced by Black culture and that we want to give some of our favorite artists and songs a shoutout! Below you can find a compiled list of our top 10 songs that come from Black artists, linked to Spotify.
