Drive-In Concerts Making Their Way to San Diego

Since early on in the pandemic, the world has seen the spread of a new type of live music experience: drive-in concerts. Even though many believe California to be a hub for the music industry happenings it seemed as though SoCal was late to the game, at least for me, an event fanatic. Anyone feel me??

That being said, my fellow San Diegans, after ~8 months of waiting to see some live music… we are HERE! The Del Mar Fairgrounds released their first concert series late last month with Dirty Heads taking the stage, and the events have just piled up ever since. The ‘Concerts in Your Car’ line up has included acts such as DJ Snoopadelic (Snoop Dogg), Chris Janson, Slightly Stoopid, and The Beach Boys so far and looking into the next few weeks they have plans for Fitz & The Tantrums, Sublime with Rome, Kaskade and more.

I’m hoping to snatch some tickets for Sublime with Rome, a band I’ve always wanted to see, and am looking forward to seeing what other artists the fairgrounds puts out tickets for over the next few months as COVID-19 continues.

Although I can’t wait for the day I can get back out onto festival grounds or dancing it up in a club, this seems like the next best option… I just MISS LIVE MUSIC DAMMIT.

Anyways, have you been to a drive-in? If so, how was your experience?

If not, are you planning on attending any in the next few months??
