Working with vendors through Family Reunion has really been an eye opening journey because I've found such a joy in supporting small businesses. I’ve realized that San Diego is a beacon for talented fashionistas and I’ve gotten some of the funkiest, most unique pieces in my closet from local vendors. These are the people wholeheartedly crafting QUALITY pieces and are the business owners that we should be supporting. If you don’t know what fast fashion is by definition it is:

Some well known fast fashion sites include Zaful, Shein, Fashion Nova, and MANY more. The problem? These companies often hold profit over people. Working conditions are awful and wages are so low you’d think it’s slavery. When purchasing from these companies, you get what you pay for - meaning cheap, poor quality clothing. So, what should you do? Support small businesses. Here is a list of 10 unique small businesses that are SURE to keep your closet ~fresh~
Thriftsy sells custom one of a kind clothing cut and sewn by the very talented Arly Stroben! Let me just tell you, I have gotten some FUN ass clothing from Arly. Her sets are to die for and she is the patterned bell bottom QUEEN. You can definitely see the hard work she puts into her clothes. Show her some love on IG: @thrifty.clothing
Little Black Diamond is a small biz that was created by Adrienne Shon to deliver unique and quality festival fashion. She helps women bring out their inner goddesses and strives to help them feel beautiful. Not only do her clothes make you feel sexy and fierce, but her mission is both inspirational and empowering. Be sure to follow this boss as company on IG: @littleblackdiamond
Aglow Geometry is a business made with love by the one and only Lucas Zacharias. He is carving the future with his beautiful LED art. He 3D prints designs and creates majestic lights, bulbs, and pendants. I’ve bought numerous pendants from him that I love whipping out at shows and festivals but the light I bought from him… I mean, it is insane! Casts a geometric shadow on my whole room like I’m in another dimension. Definitely a solid purchase! Buy your next piece at IG: @aglowgeo
Amavi Creations was created by a lovely human that has become a very dear friend of ours - Paige Dotson. Paige draws the most intricate designs by hand and prints them onto the most stunning styles of pendants. We were beyond stoked when she created our Family Reunion butterfly pendants because their beauty turned heads left and right. She has a ton of sweet designs and pendants you can scope on her IG: @amavicreations
Disco Lemonade is an LA based small biz that I’ve been following for quite a while. One look at her page, and you’ll get why. This girl is a sparkle fairy QUEEN. Her sets and pieces are so detailed and breathtaking, I can’t wait until I can finally get my hands on one of her master pieces. Check out her collection on IG: @discolemonade.co
Uplifted Mindz is another brand that I’ve long admired but not yet purchased from! Their hand crafted hats are unlike anything I’ve ever seen *chefs kiss* They are the true definition of wearable ART. Looking forward to the day I can customize my own vision on a hat with them! Check it out on IG: @upliftedmindz
Disco Disiac has the most fuego, leveled up hats ever. Period. Best part about these bucket hats is you can spice up an everyday look or you can complete your favorite festival fit! They’ve got a ton of different styles so that you can find the perfect one for you. Take a browse on IG: @discodisiac
Ironic Sunnies’ motto is “sunglasses as ridiculous as you are.” And that is exactly what they are! They’ve got sunnies with SPUNK and ATTITUDE. It’s time to ditch your boring sunglasses and start repping a pair of ironic sunnies. I kid you not every time I wear my pink sunnies and chain I get complimented on how fun they are! And you can easily own a pair by scoping them out on IG: @ironicsunnies
Rigamorte Vintage is a shop created by Ali Reany that provides show stopping vintage clothing. She vends at a variety of locations but if you DM her on Instagram she’ll let you come and shop at her studio in Clairemont! The patterns of all her clothing are so damn fresh, it’s unreal. She definitely has some of the sickest button ups I have ever seen. Check it out for yourself and follow her on IG: @rigamorte_vintage
Hunt & Gather is a vintage boutique in the heart of North Park that sells the funkiest clothes. We are OVER overrated clothing with no personality. Hunt & Gather has got the coolest handmade pieces and thrifted gems. One visit to this store and you’ll walk out with your new favorite festival fit! Be sure to follow them on IG: @hunt_and_gather
