San Diego has no shortage of music collectives and that’s what truly makes our community so special. It’s so intriguing to see just how many creative groups we have that share a passion for music and art. We thrive off of human connection and the ability to put on events where we are able to bond and create memories TOGETHER. We wanted to write this blog post to give a shoutout to all of the special collectives working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring some happiness to our community. Below our some highlights of moments we admire at events put on by our friends♡
Front Left Productions, is a house and techno event group led by Matt Egbert, that we have been close to from the very beginning. Their Rooftop Roots series on Spin Nightclub’s rooftop is a party you’ve GOT to check out. Sunny days in San Diego are meant to be spent here vibing with your friends, beer in hand, listening to some ~good tunes~
West Coast Weekender is a boutique festival and conference here in San Diego. We are inspired by the fact that they incorporate music education into their festival because that has always been a dream of ours. To be able to go to a festival and listen to amazing artists, while ALSO attending education sessions to better yourself is HUGE.
Hive Mind Collective have been our dear friends for quite some time now. We’ve collabed on numerous events where you’d spot them playing the grooviest beats and handing out their iconic bee antennas to the crowd. With the halt of live events, Hive Mind has taken this time to create the ultimate line of merchandise for their supporters! We could not be more stoked for them and hope you check them out.
Music is 4 Lovers is an online magazine, record label, and event company that has made a name for themselves in the San Diego scene. Something that we love and miss are their Lovelife Boat Parties. Discovering talented, up and coming DJs while vining with your friends on a yacht?? Count us in. We can’t wait until we can party together on the bay again!
Pirate Pandas is a San Diego collective NOTORIOUS for their underground raves. We collabed with them for an event called The Upside Down at a secret location and let me tell you, it was EPIC. Something about people coming together in a sewer headbanging to some good ole bass music just HITS RIGHT. Pirate Pandas prides themselves in being a group of misfits, outcasts, and outlaws that celebrate not only their individuality but their love for music.
I could honestly go on and on about all of the amazing humans a part of these collectives and the accomplishments that they have made! Their work does not go unnoticed. Some other collectives I’d like to shout out are the Deep End, Afternoon Umbrella Friends, Stay Bad, Live Pineapple, Kino Village, In the Bag Productions, BackroomSD, and Subdrip. We appreciate our fellow collectives that are just as passionate about making humans smile through music as we are ♡
